Area Attractions

West Virginia offers so much more beauty and excitement then you could even imagine. To make sure you get the most out of your West Virginia Cabin Getaway we have comprised a list of activities that we think you will enjoy. You can see these activities on the left hand side of our web page. Take your time and browse around to make sure your vacation is truly unforgettable.

White water rafting

White water rafting is one of the most exhilarating experiences that anyone can ever imagine, and thanks to experienced guides, everyone can enjoy it. The rivers in West Virginia are diverse, so rafters can pick a calmer trip on the New River, or brave the rapids on the Gauley. The trips are divided into different levels of skill, so this means that beginners as well as experts can enjoy the thrill of the rapids.

State and National Parks

West Virginia has an incredible system of well-managed lakes, rivers, campgrounds, forests, and of course, cabin rentals. The splendor of the smoky mountains, along with the wildlife that it supports, makes for an incredible vacation that won’t soon be forgotten. Parks like Babcock, Hawks nest, the Monongahela forest and the Cranberry Glades Botanical area are perfect for bird watching, fishing, boating and mountain biking.

Golfing

Sports enthusiasts have been golfing in West Virginia for over 120 years, and it’s no wonder. Mother Nature plays a big part in the way the links are designed. If you want a level playing field, they are available, but there’s nothing like playing on a mountain course. The locals provide interesting color at the clubs, and in just in case you need them, the courses are all located near other family attractions.

Horseback riding

Most West Virginia lodging is located near horseback riding outfitters. This means that employees know the owners personally. If you want a vacation that is diverse and well-coordinated, you won’t be disappointed in a wilderness adventure that includes modern cabins booked by reservationists who are familiar with the area. They can give you information, talk to you about packages, and book your activities for you from people they know.

Rock climbing

Rock climbing in West Virginia is an avid sport. People travel from all over the world to climb the bare faces of the mountains that overlook the beautiful scenery of the mountain state. If you love sport climbing, then you will want to visit the New River Gorge. It is accessible for novices and experts, thanks to the great trainers that let adventurers of any skill level enjoy the sport of rock climbing.
